A man was killed, and seven others were injured in a shooting incident in Baltimore on Sunday night, according to police reports. The shooting took place around 8 p.m. on the 1300 block of Spring Street, where officers discovered multiple firearms at the scene, Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley stated during a press conference.
“There was a gathering on Spring Street, and at some point, it appears that several individuals began shooting, resulting in eight people being shot, one of whom has died,” Worley said, as reported by WMAR, ABC News’ Baltimore affiliate.
The deceased was a 36-year-old man, while the injured included a woman and six men aged between 22 and 45. Their conditions varied from critical to stable, and all were transported to local hospitals.

Police indicated that there was “no evidence” to suggest that any of the shooting victims were bystanders or uninvolved in the gathering before the incident. Details on potential suspects have not been released, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting in the investigation, which is still in its early stages.
Faith Leach, Baltimore’s chief administrative officer, announced that under the guidance of Mayor Brandon Scott, the city would be launching “community neighborhood stabilization efforts” in the affected area. “The Scott administration will be present not only in the immediate aftermath of this incident but also in the long term to address community challenges, needs, and support the healing process,” Leach said.
